Welcome to Ms. Steinbacher who came to us from Oswego, Ks. where she taught third grade. She also has her license in SPED!The second and third graders in Mrs. Nickel and Mrs. Boyce’s reading groups have been working hard all year reading at home. They earned points for each night they read at home, and could redeem their points for ice cream and lots of different toppings! They had a really ‘sweet’ time! McKenzie from Mrs. Gillis 2nd grade class was the winner of the question, "If it takes 35 gallons of water for a 5 minute shower, how many gallons does a 10 minute shower use?" Her prize was a strawberry plan
Mrs. Gillis and Mrs. Shultz had a speaker on Wednesday, April 23rd, who volunteered from the Federal Reserve Program called "Teach Children to Save". The volunteer was Brian Peters from the US Bank, Turner Branch. He gave the 2nd graders a lesson about saving money and left each of them with a booklet and ruler made of recycled money! 2nd grade traveled to Hen House on April 7th to learn about the different food groups! The lobster seemed to be a big hit! Ella and Regan, 2nd grade, made the state finals for the National American Miss pageant. They are excited to represent their state of Kansas! The 2 girls will compete for the title on July 19th. If they win, they will go to Nationals in California.
Students spent cub bucks on Wednesday, April 2, to have lunch with Mrs. Darby in her office! Irvin from Mrs. Nuckle's 2nd grade is shown. From third grade are Dulce from Mrs. Rabang's class and Dylan from Mrs. Coffman's class! Ms. Nuckles' class had some math fun today before Spring Break! Students rotated activities such as iPads, computers, pattern blocks, and games to review skills they have been learning so far this year! |
